Marshfield girls basketball ends losing skid with wins at Wausau East, Eau Claire Memorial

The Marshfield girls basketball team won a pair of road games over the weekend, defeating Wausau East 59-30 on Friday and Eau Claire Memorial 49-42 on Saturday.

The Tigers ended a four-game losing skid with the win on Friday and are now 5-11 this season with the two victories.

Danielle Minsaas led a balanced scoring attack with 12 points against East. Quincy Lang and Brianna Varsho each scored nine points, Madison Voss added eight, Loryn Jakobi scored seven and Abby Ongna had six in the win.

Marshfield pulled away with a 36-10 advantage in the second half.

Maddie Michaelis scored 13 points, and Minsaas and Ongna both scored 10 against Memorial.

Marshfield plays its final regular-season road game at Wausau West on Tuesday. The Tigers will finish the season with home games against Wausau East on Feb. 2 and Stevens Point on Feb. 4.
