Auburndale boys basketball has 10-game winning streak snapped by Marathon

AUBURNDALE – Jaden Koeller scored 18 points to help propel Marathon to a 59-51 win over Auburndale in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale had won 10 games in a row, with its last loss at Marathon on Dec. 15.

Auburndale drops to 12-3 overall and 9-2 in the Marawood South. Marathon is now 13-4 and 6-4 in conference play.

Auburndale led 28-27 at halftime before Marathon pulled away in the second half.

Koeller made four 3-pointers in the first half on his way to his game-high 18 points for Marathon. Brock Warren added 14 points, eight in the second half.

Hunter Wright scored 13 points and Terrance Roberson had 11 for Auburndale.

Both teams return to action Friday. Auburndale will play at Stratford and Marathon will host Wisconsin Rapids Assumption.
