Stratford baseball shuts out Assumption

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Kale Weisenberger threw a five-inning one-hit shutout and had three hits to lift the Stratford baseball team to a 16-0 win over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in the Marawood Conference South Division opener for both teams Tuesday at Witter Field.

Weisenberger struck out six and walked one in the victory as the Tigers improve to 4-0 overall.

Colten Schillinger hit a home run and had three RBIs, Riley Bauman went 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, two singles and scored thre times, and Gavin Kirsch, Cam Daul and Dane Poppy each had two RBIs for Stratford.

Parker Gehrke had Assumption’s only hit. The Royals fall to 2-2 overall.

Stratford hosts Assumption at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
