Greenwood/Loyal softball wins Cloverbelt East opener at Spencer

SPENCER – Kaitlyn Lindner threw a complete game three-hitter, and had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Greenwood/Loyal softball team to a 10-1 win over Spencer in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener for both teams Tuesday at ARC Park.

Greenwood/Loyal scored in six of its seven at-bats to eventually pull away.

Kayla Bremmer had three doubles and three RBIs, and Gracie North and Emma Schlough each had two hits for G/L.

Madison Knecht took the loss to Spencer, striking out seven in a complete-game effort.

Spencer hosts Colby/Abbotsford on Thursday, while Greenwood/Loyal returns to action Friday at Loyal against Neillsville.
