MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team extended its winning streak to four with a 12-2 victory over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Monday at Jack Hackman Field.

The Dons scored six times in the second inning to bust the game open, then finished it off with a five-run fifth, ending the game via the 10-run rule.

Brock Bennington continued his hot hitting for Columbus Catholic, going 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and three runs scored.

Jadon Nienast added a pair of singles and scored twice, and Xane Adler had an RBI double in the big second inning for the Dons (6-5).

Will Schlafke earned the win in a complete-game effort, striking out two and scattering four hits.

Nick Leberg had two hits for Assumption, which drops to 3-7.

Columbus Catholic plays a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday at Loyal.
