MARSHFIELD – Chippewa Falls McDonell scored multiple runs in four of its five at-bats and knocked off Columbus Catholic 14-4 in a nonconference softball game Monday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

McDonell scored three times in the first and second innings, added four in the third, and finished the game off via the 10-run rule with a three-run fifth.

Cierra Dieringer and Haley Van Whye each had two hits and an RBI for the Dons. Raella Schueller also added a pair of hits for Columbus (3-5).

Morgan Wirtz had two singles, a double, a home run and drove in five runs to pace the Macks (8-5). Josie Witkowski added four hits and three RBIs in the victory.

Columbus Catholic returns to Cloverbelt Conference East Division action Friday at home against Neillsville.
