LA CROSSE – Phoebe Hernandez won two events and Hanna Merkel took the all-around title as the Marshfield gymnastics team won the La Crosse Triangular on Tuesday at Performance Elite Gymnastics.
Hernandez won the vault with a score of 9.35 and the floor exercise with a score of 8.9 for the Tigers, who finished with a total score of 132.425. La Crosse was second with 119.275 and Arcadia third with 91.475 points.
Merkel won the uneven bars with a score of 8.9 and the all-around title with a score of 33.55. She also placed fourth in the vault (8.15), second in the balance beam (7.95) and fourth in the floor (8.55).
Ellie Jensen earned a win in the balance beam for the Tigers with a score of 8.825.
Marshfield will compete at the Rhinelander Invitational on Saturday before opening its Great Northern Conference schedule with its first home meet on Dec. 16 against Wisconsin Rapids.
