Stevens Point Pacelli girls basketball player Amelia Jacoby has been voted as the MarshfieldAreaSports.com & Zaleski Sports November High School Athlete of the Month.

The High School Athlete of the Month Award main sponsor for the 2021-22 school year is Awards ‘n’ More of Wisconsin Rapids. The monthly award will continue through June 2022, and the winner of the MarshfieldAreaSports.com & Zaleski Sports High School Athlete of the Year will be announced in July.

Varsity athletes from the following high schools are eligible to be nominated for the award: Abbotsford, Amherst, Athens, Assumption, Auburndale, Colby, Columbus Catholic, Edgar, Granton, Greenwood, Iola-Scandinavia, Loyal, Marshfield, Mosinee, Neillsville, Newman Catholic, Pacelli, Pittsville, Port Edwards, Rosholt, Spencer, Stratford, Stevens Point, Wild Rose and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln.

Jacoby 675 of the nearly 1,700 votes cast during voting from Dec. 2-8 at MarshfieldAreaSports.com.

Other nominees for the November award were: Colby football player Brent Jeske, Athens girls basketball player Addison Lavicka, Newman Catholic boys basketball player Mason Prey, and Marshfield boys hockey player Payton Smith.

Jacoby, a junior forward, scored 24 points and had eight rebounds in the Cardinals’ win over Marion on Nov. 23, and also added 11 points and seven rebounds in a victory over Weyauwega-Fremont on Nov. 18, as Pacelli has started the season 2-0.
