Stratford girls basketball fights to home win over Abbotsford

STRATFORD – Lauren Kraus had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead the Stratford girls basketball team to a 48-32 win over Abbotsford in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Stratford High School.

The Tigers led 19-11 at halftime and outscored Abbotsford by eight in the second half to pull away and end Abby’s five-game winning streak.

Stratford improves to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in the Marawood South, while Abbotsford drops to 8-4 and 3-4 in the Marawood North.

Bailey Linzmaier added 10 points for Stratford.

Brisieda Escalera had 10 points and Sydney Falteisek added nine for Abbotsford.

Stratford hosts Bonduel on Monday and Abbotsford plays at Tomahawk on Tuesday in nonconference action.
