Columbus Catholic boys basketball uses long ball to down Loyal

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield Columbus Catholic made 10 3-pointers and were 14-for-17 at the free throw line as it rolled to a 72-35 win over Loyal in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Friday at Columbus Catholic High School.

Emmitt Konieczny had 20 points and Sam Wilczek added 15 for the Dons, who are 10-1 overall and remain unbeaten at 5-0 in the Cloverbelt East.

Drew Stieglitz had nine points to lead Loyal, which drops to 3-5 overall and 3-3 in the Cloverbelt East.

Columbus Catholic plays a nonconference game at Stevens Point Pacelli on Monday. The game will be live at zaleskisports.com.

Loyal’s next game is Tuesday at Amherst.
