MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys basketball team held off a late charge to defeat Chippewa Falls 71-65 in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Marshfield High School.

Marshfield won for the 10th time in its last 11 games to improve to 11-4.

Gavin Fravert was 5-for-7 from 3-point range and scored a team-high 23 points for the Tigers. Brooks Hinson added another four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points in the victory.

Marshfield finished 13-for-20 from 3-point range and shot 63 percent (24-for-38) overall from the field.

Marshfield plays a Wisconsin Valley Conference game at Wausau East on Friday.
