Auburndale boys basketball knocks off Newman Catholic

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale boys basketball team continued its late-season surge with a 51-47 win over Wausau Newman Catholic in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday at Auburndale High School.

Mason White Eagle scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Eagles, who have won eight of their last 10 games to improve to 9-8 overall and 6-6 in the Marawood South.

Alex Willfahrt added 16 points for Auburndale.

Newman Catholic falls to 12-6 overall and 8-4 in the Marawood South, as it drops to 2-4 in their last six games.

Auburndale hosts Prentice and Newman Catholic will be at home against Rib Lake in Marawood crossover games Friday.
