Pittsville storms back in second half to down Spencer boys basketball

PITTSVILLE – Pittsville stormed back from a five-point halftime deficit to defeat Spencer 48-43 in a nonconference boys basketball game Tuesday night at Pittsville High School.

Spencer led 27-22 at halftime before the Panthers turned the tables, outscoring the Rockets by 10 in the second half to snag the victory.

Jordan Denniston had 19 points and eight rebounds, and Brennen Petersen added 11 points as both players made 3-pointers for Pittsville (6-10).

Degan Hainz led Spencer (6-14) with 11 points.

Both teams return to action Thursday. Spencer will play a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game at Loyal and Pittsville hosts Wild Rose for a Central Wisconsin Conference South Division matchup.
