WESTON – The Marshfield girls soccer team played to a 3-3 tie with New Richmond in a game at the D.C. Everest Invitational on Saturday at D.C. Everest Middle School.

Presley Franklin, Avery Weister and Lauryn Katzenberger had goals for Marshfield, with Grace Taylor assisting on two and Hadlee Hall on the other.

Payton Bremer had two saves and Ella Allar had three in goal for Marshfield (9-7-1).

“Even though we tied today, the offense really did some nice things,” Marshfield coach Steve Lindner said. “We have been putting a lot of emphasis to out-attack and letting the kids know it is OK to let it fly versus trying to make that last perfect touch pass. It was impressive to see.”

Marshfield will host Wausau West at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in its final home Wisconsin Valley Conference game of the season. Third-place in the conference standings is on the line.
