Stratford baseball shuts down Assumption

STRATFORD – Cam Daul threw a five-inning three-hit shutout, and had two hits and scored twice, to lead the Stratford baseball team to a 10-0 win in its Marawood Conference South Division finale Tuesday at the Tiger Stadium Baseball Field.

Daul struck out nine and did not walk a batter, while scattering three singles in the victory.

Stratford finishes off its Marawood South championship with a 9-1 record and improve to 15-2 overall. Assumption falls to 3-11 and ends up 1-9 in conference play.

Jack Tubbs went 3-for-4 with four RBI, and Dillon Kirsch had a triple and two RBI for the Tigers.

Both teams will play nonconference games on Friday. Assumption will be at Westfield and Stratford will host Mosinee. The Stratford game will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
