Marshfield girls soccer shuts out Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield girls soccer team earned its 10th shutout of the season with a 1-0 victory over Stevens Point at the Portage County Soccer Complex.

Avery Weister scored in the 12th minute off an assist from Grace Taylor for the only goal of the game.

Marshfield outshot Stevens Point 19-0, but only pushed the one goal past Stevens Point goalie Lexi Molski, who had 10 saves.

Marshfield heads into the WIAA Division 1 playoffs with an 11-8-1 record and a 6-5 mark in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. The Tigers play at D.C. Everest in a WIAA regional semifinal Tuesday at 7 p.m. at D.C. Everest Middle School. The game will also serve as a conference game.

Stevens Point (3-12-1, 3-9 WVC) will play a D-1 regional semifinal at De Pere on Tuesday.
