Columbus Catholic volleyball sweeps three matches at Loyal Quad

LOYAL – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team opened its 2022 season by sweeping three matches at the Loyal Quadrangular on Tuesday at Loyal High School.

Columbus Catholic defeated Rib Lake 25-13, 25-12; Loyal 25-11, 25-8; and Osseo-Fairchild 25-15, 25-18.

Courtney Sommer led the Dons’ offense with 19 kills, 28 assists and seven service aces.

Aaliyah Krenn had 18 kills and seven aces, Jenna Kibbel had 17 kills, 21 digs, and three aces, and Lily Stratman had a team-high 36 assists and also had seven aces for Columbus Catholic.

Izzy Hoglund had a team-best 23 digs and five aces as well for the Dons.

Columbus Catholic will compete at the Menomonie Sprawl at the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Friday and Saturday.
