ABBOTSFORD – The Auburndale football train just keeps on rolling.
The Eagles scored six touchdowns in the first half to take complete control and rolled past Abbotsford 49-6 in a Marawood Conference matchup Friday night at Abbotsford High School.
Auburndale, ranked seventh in this week’s Wissports.net Division 6 state coaches poll, is now 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the Marawood Conference. Abbotsford drops to 3-3 and 2-3 in the conference.
Auburndale quarterback Trayton Weber ran for 94 yards on just four carries including touchdown runs of 51 and 23 yards, the Eagles’ defense scored twice in the rout.
Blake Raab returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown and Kaden Anderson took a fumble recovery 55 yards for another score for the Eagles.
Evan Scholl added 87 yards rushing and a touchdown, Raab had a rushing touchdown, and Weber connected with Aden Cherney for a 27-yard touchdown pass as well for Auburndale.
Auburndale will host Edgar in a Marawood contest next Friday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. Edgar is one game behind Colby and Auburndale in the conference standings.
