Marshfield wrestling sweeps four matches, wins Pieper Duals at Stoughton

STOUGHTON – The Marshfield wrestling team opened its 2022-23 season by wining all four matches and taking first place at the Pieper Duals on Saturday at Stoughton High School.

Marshfield defeated Oak Creek 48-30, Madison LaFollette 66-7, Belleville Sugar River 60-22, and Stoughton 62-18, to claim the title.

Brett Franklin (145) Hoyt Blaskowski (152 pounds), Caleb Dennee (160), Garrett Willuweit (170) and Owen Greisbach (182) each went 4-0 for the Tigers.

Blaskowski pinned all four of his opponents, and Dennee, Willuweit and Greisbach each had three pins and one win by forfeit. Franklin won two of his matches by pin and the other two by forfeit.

Marshfield will open its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet schedule at Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday before competing at the Wisconsin Dells Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 10.
