Regis holds off Columbus Catholic girls basketball

MARSHFIELD – Ashley Chilson scored 15 of her game-high 24 points in the second half to help lift Eau Claire Regis to a 60-55 win over Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a nonconference girls basketball game Saturday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Regis led 29-24 at halftime and the teams matched points in the second half as the Ramblers won by five.

Columbus Catholic stayed in it with seven 3-pointers, three each from Hailey Zimmermann and Jenna Kibbel. Kibbel finished with a team-high 17 points and Gracie Wilczek added 12 as she made 7 of 8 from the free throw line.

Regis is now 2-4 and Columbus drops to 4-5.

The Dons will play back-to-back Cloverbelt Conference East Division games on Monday at home against Gilman and Tuesday at Greenwood.
