Auburndale boys basketball thumps Chequamegon for ninth-straight victory

PARK FALLS – The Auburndale boys basketball team extended its winning streak to nine with a convincing 68-46 victory over Chequamegon in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Chequamegon High School.

Four Eagles scored in double figures as they improve to 10-1 overall and maintain a three-way tie with Marathon and Wausau Newman Catholic for first place in the Marawood South at 6-1.

Alex Willfahrt had 16 points, Lucas Yeske scored 13, and Caden Weinfurter and Mason White Eagle each chipped in 12 points for Auburndale.

Isaiah Dietz poured in a game-high 32 points for Chequamegon (4-7, 2-5 Marawood North).

Auburndale hosts Edgar on Tuesday.
