Spencer boys basketball pounds Greenwood

GREENWOOD – Jonathan Jonas scored 22 points to lead five Spencer players in double figures as the Rockets rolled past Greenwood 83-54 to win its first Cloverbelt Conference East Division game of the season Friday night at Greenwood High School.

Nathan Rucker added 18 points, Luke Roehrborn had 16, Connor Bacon scored 14 and Sam Bezlyk chipped in 10 for Spencer, which is now 3-7 overall and 1-3 in the Cloverbelt East.

Spencer ran out to a 40-20 lead by halftime and outscored Greenwood (0-10, 0-3 Cloverbelt East) by nine in the second half to cruise to the win.

Rogan Travis scored 24 points for Greenwood.

Spencer returns to action for a Cloverbelt East game against Gilman.
