Marshfield’s Jensen finishes 25th in uneven bars at WIAA State Individual Gymnastics Championships

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Marshfield senior Ellie Jensen competed at the WIAA State Individual Gymnastics Championships on Saturday at Lincoln High School, ending her career with the Tigers.

Jensen, the lone Marshfield representative at this year’s state meet, finished 25th in the uneven bars, finishing with a score of 7.267. The event was won by Annika Rufenacht of Verona/Edgewood with a score of 9.483.

Other state individual champions in Division 1 on Saturday were Denise Ta and Rufenacht of Verona/Edgewood, who tied for first in the balance beam (9.517), and Maggie Pokorny of Mequon Homestead in the floor exercise (9.5) and the vault (9.8).

Rufenacht edged Pokorny for the all-around title 38.1-37.55, with Franklin/Muskego’s Kaylee Stoeger taking third at 37.483.

Verona/Edgewood won the team event on Friday night with a score of 146.1167, nearly a full point ahead of Franklin/Muskego’s 145.3167.
