WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield Junior Legion baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday night, falling 9-1 and 7-6.
Marshfield scored in the opening in of Game 1 on an RBI single by Bryce Schade, but that would be all the Junior Devils would muster as Wisconsin Rapids scored in five of its six at-bats to pull away.
Ethan Soweija threw a complete game for Marshfield, striking out one and walking three. Schade finished 2-for-2.
Wisconsin Rapids came back from a one-run deficit on three different occasions and finished off the victory with a run in the bottom of the sixth.
Tyler Peterson was 3-for-4 and Schade added two more hits, and both had an RBI in the loss for Marshfield (4-8).
Marshfield returns to action Thursday for another doubleheader on the road, this time at D.C. Everest.
