Wisconsin Rapids slides past Marshfield Senior Legion

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to pull past Marshfield 3-2 in a Senior American Legion baseball game Tuesday night at Lincoln High School.

Marshfield tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the sixth on an RBI single by Chase Robinson, but Wisconsin Rapids immediately responded in the bottom of the inning as Jackson Laskowski doubled home Nolan Hartman to put the Rangers back on top.

Braden Lewis allowed a two-out single before finishing off the complete-game win in the seventh for Wisconsin Rapids.

Aden Cherney, Brock Bennington and Sloan Welch each had a single and a double in the loss for Marshfield (2-3, 1-2 Wisconsin Valley Legion Conference).

Marshfield plays at Antigo on Wednesday.
