AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale boys basketball team kept pace atop the Marawood Conference South Division standings with a 61-38 win over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Friday night at Auburndale High School.
The Eagles outscored Assumption by double digits in each half to earn the win and improve to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the Marawood South, which is tied for first place with Marathon. Click here to view the Marawood South boys basketball standings
Kaden Anderson continued his early-season prowess, pouring in 23 points for Auburndale as was an efficient 7-for-10 from the field and a perfect 9-for-9 at the free throw line.
Caden Weinfurter added 14 points and eight rebounds in the win for the Eagles.
J.T. Schlaefer had 22 points to lead Assumption (3-3, 2-2 Marawood South).
Auburndale is back in action with another Marawood South game at Edgar on Tuesday.
