Marshfield wrestlers earn four pins, lose dual at Merrill

MERRILL – Austin Mahoney and Justin Sternweis each improved to 11-0 this season, but it wasn’t enough as the Marshfield wrestling team lost a 57-21 dual meet at Merrill on Thursday night.

Mahoney beat David Pophal 10-6 at 160 pounds and Sternweis pinned Jacob Tessmer at 3:48 at 182 pounds for the Tigers (4-4, 0-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference).

Devon Klement (113) and Kane Seubert (170) also won by pin for Marshfield.

The Tigers compete at the Kimberly Invitational on Saturday.
