Marshfield wins opener over Stevens Point at Junior Legion Regional

MARSHFIELD – Jack Donahue tossed a complete game with six strikeouts to lead Marshfield to a 5-3 win over Stevens Point in the opening round of the Junior Legion Regional Baseball Tournament on Thursday at Jack Hackman Field.

Cameron Swanson went 1-for-2 with a double, a sacrifice fly and three RBIs, and Jeremy Brost, Matt Meyer, Mitch Susa, Trevor Schwecke, Donahue and Matt Kuhlka each had a hit for the Blue Demons (21-11-1).

In other action Thursday, Plover rolled Black River Falls 17-0 and shutout Rothschild-Schofield-Weston 12-0.

Stevens Point plays Black River Falls in a loser’s bracket game at 3 p.m. Friday, followed by Marshfield against Plover at 5:30 p.m. and RSW against the loser of the Marshfield-Plover game at 8 p.m.
