STRATFORD – The Stratford softball team scored three times in the bottom of the sixth inning to bust open a tie game and defeat Auburndale 5-2 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Thursday at Hilgemann Field.

A fielder’s choice RBI by Gracie Schmidt, and RBI singles by Kressa Wenzel and Kalyn Schueller in the sixth-inning rally propelled the Tigers to the win and a series split with Auburndale.

Tria Tubbs earned the pitching win for Stratford (8-4, 4-2 Marawood South), striking out five and allowing just four hits.

Kressa Wenzel and Emma Roeper each had two hits for Stratford.

Danika Blomberg and Taylor Anderson had RBI singles in the third inning to account for Auburndale’s two runs. The Eagles drop to 8-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

Auburndale plays at Rib Lake and Stratford will travel to Phillips for nonconference games on Friday.
