CAMPBELLSPORT – Marshfield senior Tristan Wilson went 3-0 and won the 285-pound bracket to help the Tigers wrestling team to a third-place finish at the Campbellsport Cougar Invitational on Saturday at Campbellsport High School.
Wilson pinned Josh Teegardin of Sheboygan South in 54 seconds to win the 285-pound championship match and claim Marshfield’s only individual title.
Sauk Prairie won the team title with 214.5 points, with Sheboygan South second with 164 and Marshfield third with 131.
The Tigers had three second-place finishes and three other wrestlers took third.
Noah Gerdes (106 pounds) and Tyler Manthe (138) were pinned in the championship matches at their respective weights, and Mitch Hertel (152) lost in overtime to take second.
Luke Mahoney (126), Carsten Lovstad (145) and Josh Lang (170) each won third-place matches for Marshfield.
Marshfield returns to action Thursday in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet at Merrill.
