Stratford girls basketball cruises past Edgar

STRATFORD – Brooke Schultze scored 14 points and had eight steals to lead the Stratford girls basketball team to a 43-26 over Edgar in a Marawood Conference South Division game Friday night at Stratford High School.

Stratford pulled out to a 13-4 lead after the first quarter and held a 27-14 advantage at halftime as it was never threatened.

Casey Kolbeck and Macie Frueh each chipped in with seven points for the Tigers (6-7, 2-4 Marawood South).

Edgar made just 12 of 43 shots from the field and 1 of 8 on free throws. Dana Heidmann led Edgar (2-10, 1-6 Marawood South) with seven points.

Stratford plays at home against first-place Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Tuesday.
