Marshfield boys basketball falls short at Wausau West

WAUSAU – The Marshfield boys basketball team dropped its fourth-straight Wisconsin Valley Conference game and lost for the sixth time in its last seven games overall, losing at Wausau West 51-46 on Friday night.

The Tigers are now 5-10 overall and 1-5 in the WVC. West improves to 9-7 and 2-4 in the Valley.

Marshfield’s next game is Tuesday at home against Eau Claire North in a nonconference matchup.

Caleb Alexander had 12 points to lead the Tigers’ balanced scoring. Adam Fravert added nine points and Will Spindler had seven rebounds for Marshfield.

Marshfield trailed 24-13 at halftime before cutting into the Warriors’ lead in the second half. The Tigers outscored West 20-15 in the fourth quarter, but fell five points short.
