TOMAHAWK – Tomahawk scored twice in the first period and held off Marshfield the rest of the way to win a nonconference boys hockey game 3-1 on Tuesday at Sara Park.

Marshfield drops to 1-3 after losing its second game in a row.

Max Bembinster scored just 1:19 into the game and Aaron Evans added another later in the first period to put Tomahawk up 2-0.

Following a scoreless second period, Marshfield cut the deficit in half with 45 seconds to go when Isaac Wellens scored off assists from Ryan Krueger and Evan Weister, but that was the Tigers could muster.

Jordan Tomaszewski added an empty net goal just 11 seconds later for Tomahawk, which was playing its season-opener.

A.J. Trierweiler had 19 saves in goal for the Tigers.
