Stevens Point blanks Marshfield boys hockey

MARSHFIELD – Dayne Hoyord scored four times to lead Stevens Point to a 5-0 win over Marshfield in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys hockey game Tuesday at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena.

Hoyad scored 7:08 into the game, added two more goals in the second period, and scored again at the 7:12 mark of the third period to put the Panthers up 4-0.

Trent Metz added another goal for Stevens Point (2-1, 1-1 Wisconsin Valley Conference).

Marshfield (2-4, 0-1 WVC) was held to just 12 shots on goal, all of which were saved by Stevens Point goalie Landen Kawleski.

The Tigers play at Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday.
