Auburndale baseball downs Abbotsford/Colby, improves to 4-0

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale baseball team kept its undefeated season intact with a 7-3 win over Abbotsford/Colby in a nonconference game Saturday at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale raced out to a 5-1 lead, scoring three times in the first inning and twice in the second.

Nathan Richardson had a two-run double and scored on a single by Ayden Raab in the first for the Eagles.

In the second, Caden Weinfurter knocked in a run with a single and Kaden Anderson added a sacrifice fly.

Run-scoring singles from Anderson in the fourth and Weinfurter in the sixth padded Auburndale’s lead.

Aden Cherney picked up the pitching win, striking out 10 in 5 2/3 innings.

Auburndale hosts Spencer for another nonconference game on Monday at 4 p.m.
