Stratford wins 13 events, take both team titles at home Stratford Tiger Track & Field Invite

STRATFORD – The Stratford girls and boys teams combined for 13 event titles as each won the team championships at its home Stratford Tiger Track & Field Invitational on Friday at Tiger Stadium.

The Stratford boys earned nine wins and finished with 194.5 points, well ahead of second-place Edgar (111). Marshfield Columbus Catholic placed third with 85, Auburndale fifth with 61 and Spencer ninth with six points.

On the girls side, Stratford won four events and ended up with 147.83 points, with Auburndale second with 83, Columbus Catholic third with 31.83 and Spencer ninth with 19.5.

Jett Schoenherr won the boys 100 meters (11.17) and 200 (22.70), and was part of the winning 400-meter relay team, along with Payton Glenn, Zander Zawislan and Coltan Breit (43.18).

Glenn, Zawislan, Breit and Austin O’Neil won the 800 relay in 1:31.79, and the 3,200 relay team of Ethan Heeg, Christopher Stuttgen, Derek Wiese and Garrett Zuelke finished first in 8:41.10 as well for Stratford.

Earning individual wins for the Stratford boys were Kaden Foster in the high jump (5 feet, 10 inches), Glenn in the long jump (20-3), Koehler Kilty in the shot put (40-1/4) and Austin Niehaus in the 400 (54.80).

The Stratford girls won a pair of relays as the 3,200 team of Kaylie McHugh, Jaela Jochimsen, Lily Dabbert and Breleigh Skaya was first in 10:49.69, and the 400 team of Sadie Weigel, Dawnyel Martin, Hailey Fecker and Brianna Sherden won in 51.91.

Martin was first in the girls 300 hurdles (52.87) and Kayla Casperson won the 3,200 in 12:16.53 as well for the Tigers.

Columbus Catholic’s Isaac Scheer won the boys 1,600 (4:36.73) and 3,200 (9:56.81), and Aubrey Waldhauser was first in the girls high jump (4-8).

Auburndale picked up five wins. The girls 1,600 relay team of Gracie Hasenohrl, Rose Hasenohrl, Alivia Wolf and Alana Steines won in 4:19.16, Rose Hasenohrl was first in the girls 400 (1:00.69), Shea Fabisiak won the girls long jump (15-5¼), Logan Nagel took first in the boys discus (131-0) and Trevor Trowbridge won the boys 300 hurdles (43.90).

Spencer’s top finish came from Autumn Davis, who placed fourth in the girls 400 in 1:07.46.
