Stratford wrestling team wraps up Marawood Conference dual meet title

PITTSVILLE – The Stratford wrestling team wrapped up sole possession of the Marawood Conference regular-season title with a 50-24 win over Pittsville on Thursday night at Pittsville High School.

The match was tied 10-10 after four matches before the Tigers won six in a row to clinch the win.

Matt Zuelke (160 pounds), Andrew Murdaugh (285) and Alex Herden (112) had pins for Stratford, which finishes the Marawood dual season with a perfect 7-0 record.

The Tigers also took advantage of four forfeits in the win.

Stratford is off until the Marawood Conference Meet at Auburndale on Jan. 29.
