MARSHFIELD – Marshfield’s Paige Johnson and Abbey Besler were recently named to the Wisconsin Girls Hockey Coaches Association All-State Team for the 2010-11 season.
Johnson, a sophomore and the Great Northern Conference Player of the Year, was a second-team selection as a defenseman.
Besler, a seinor and a first-team All-GNC selection, was an honorable mention choice.
Johnson and Besler led Marshfield to a 19-6 record and the team’s first sectional final appearance in the short three-year history of the program.
Josie Johnson of Sun Prairie was named Miss Hockey as the state’s player of the year.
