Spencer boys basketball rebounds from tough loss to crush Granton

GRANTON – Spencer bounced back from a disappointing blowout loss earlier in the week to rout Granton 78-33 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Friday night at Granton High School.

Joe Meyers scored 17 points to lead five Spencer players in double figures.

Jeremiah Cattanach added 13 points, and Steven Gilboy, Adam Skrzeczkoski and Sam Cattanach each scored 10 points for the Rockets, which were blown out by 23 at home against Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Tuesday. Skrzeczkoski had 14 rebounds and Gilboy had seven rebounds and five assists.

Spencer led 24-6 after the first quarter and led 39-12 by halftime as it improves to 3-2 overall and in the Cloverbelt East.

Dustin Nickel led Granton (0-5, 0-4 Cloverbelt East) with 10 points.

Spencer hosts Abbotsford for a nonconference game Tuesday and Greenwood for a Cloverbelt East game next Thursday.
