Spencer girls edge Rib Lake

RIB LAKE – Sophomore guard Krystal Weier scored more than half of Spencer’s points, totalling 24 in a 43-41 nonconference girls basketball win over Rib Lake on Monday night.

Courtney Schulz added eight points and five rebounds for the Rockets, who improve to 12-5.

Weier was 9 of 16 from the field and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line for Spencer. The Rockets were 9 of 14 overall from the line.

Rib Lake (7-11) trailed most of the game until rallying to tie the score at 39-39 in the fourth quarter. Spencer regained the lead and held on for the win.

Sadie Brehm was 10 of 22 from the field and scored 21 points for Rib Lake.

The Rockets host Abbotsford in another nonconference game on Tuesday and are at home for a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday against Colby.
