Spencer girls basketball team blasts Loyal

SPENCER – Kyleigh Hebert had 13 points and Courtney Schulz added 10 points to lead the Spencer girls basketball team to a 54-12 rout of Loyal in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday night at Spencer High School.

The Rockets used a 22-2 run in the second quarter to cruise out to a 34-7 halftime lead. Spencer finished off the game outscoring Loyal 20-5 in the second half.

Spencer held a 30-11 rebounding edge and had 20 steals, including six by Krystal Weier.

The Rockets improve to 9-4 and 7-3 in the Cloverbelt East. Loyal falls to 3-11 and 1-10 in conference.

Aubrie Bissonette added nine points and Weier and Matter each scored seven for Spencer.

Spencer hosts Abbotsford in a nonconference game Tuesday.
