Marshfield’s Jeremy Robinson snags two medals at WIAA State Track and Field Championships

LA CROSSE – Senior Jeremy Robinson wrapped up his stellar season and career at Marshfield High School on the medal stand Saturday at the WIAA State Track and Field Championships at the University of Wiscnosin-La Crosse.

Robinson finished third in the 100 meters and fourth in the triple jump to grab two Division 1 medals as the state meet wrapped up Saturday.

Robinson, who qualified sixth, was in a battle to the finish in the 100 meters and ended up taking third in 10.96 seconds, just 2/100 of a second behind Zach Rothering of West De Pere for second. Kaewon Reynolds won the event in 10.79 seconds.

Robinson took fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 45 feet, 3.5 inches to earn his second medal.

Keiron Howlett, who didn’t qualify for the finals in the 110 or 300 hurdles, earned a sixth-place medal in the long jump on Friday.

No Marshfield girls qualified for the state meet.

Team champions for the boys were Brookfield East in Division 1, Belleville/New Glarus in Division 2 and Edgar in Division 3. Edgar edged Marawood Conference rival Marathon by just ½ point for the team title.

Girls team champions were Milwaukee Riverside University in Division 1, La Crosse Aquinas in Division 2, and Edgar in Division 3.
