Stratford’s Drew Spaeth earned first-team honors and both Stratford and Auburndale had two second-team picks as the All-Marawood Conference South Division Baseball Team was announced recently.
Spaeth, a sophomore, led the Tigers with a .386 batting average (eight in conference) and 16 RBIs (sixth in conference). He also struck out 67 in 60 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.52 and an 8-2 record.
Stratford seniors Ben Kraus and Derek Austin, and Auburndale sophomore Blake Anderson and Troy Kollross were named to the second-team.
Kraus topped the conference with 24 runs scored and batted .286. Austin hit .326 with 10 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.
Kollross led Auburndale with a .348 batting average, while Anderson hit .333 with a pair of home runs, 10 RBIs and a team-high 15 runs scores.
Auburndale senior Tony Altmann and junior Ben Bolder, and Stratford juniors Travis Urlaub and Nolan Bargender were honorable mention choices.
Brandon Doll of Edgar was named South Division player of the year, and Steve Warren of conference champion Marathon was chosen as South Division coach of the year.
Doll topped the Marawood South in batting average (.545) and home runs (five), and was second with 20 RBIs.
