MARSHFIELD – Lexi Dupee and Morgan Larson scored goals for Marshfield but it was all the Tigers could get in a 2-2 tie with Northland Pines in the Great Northern Conference girls hockey opener for both teams on Monday night at the Marshfield Youth Ice & Recreation Center.

Dupee’s goal early in the second period knotted the score at 1-1. After Cali Sanborn scored with 2:32 left in regulation, Morgan Larson tied the game again with a goal with just 1:24 remaining.

Paige Johnson assisted on both Marshfield goals, and Kessa Schreiner added an assist on Larson’s score.

Alexis Straughan had 24 saves in goal for Marshfield.

Marshfield moves to 2-1-1 overall and will host Hudson in a nonconference game at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and online at wdlbwosq.com.
