RICHLAND – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team continued its hot stretch to start the 2012-13 season, but needed overtime to do it.
The Marauders improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference with a 94-86 overtime victory over UW-Richland on Wednesday night.
UW-Marshfield led 36-31 at halftime before Richland came back to force overtime with the score tied at 79-79.
The Marauders outscored Richland 15-7 in the extra period.
Jesse Bejcek scored 23 points, Cain Trunkel added 20, Matt Grunewald had 18 and Brandon Herr finished with 10 points for Uw-Marshfield.
The Marauders are back in action Saturday at UW-Rock County in Janesville on Saturday.
