MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County basketball teams swept UW-Fond du Lac in a pair of games Saturday afternoon at the Marauder Gym.
The Marauders women throttled Fond du Lac 88-47, while the UW-Marshfield men won 65-50.
Corrine Meacham led the Marshfield women with 24 points. McKenzie Trunkel added 22, Kaitlynn Mefferd had 19 and Addi Vold scored 10 for the Marauders (14-2 overall, 12-1 Wisconsin Collegiate Conference).
The UW-Marshfield/Wood County men followed with a 15-point win, outscoring Fond du Lac 35-20 in the first half.
Leo Braun led a balanced Marauders attack with 15 points. Brandon Herr and Cain Trunkel each scored 12 and Jesse Bejeck had 10 for Marshfield (13-4, 5-1 WCC).
The Marauders teams host UW-Richland in a doubleheader on Wednesday. The women’s game starts at 5 p.m., with the men to follow at 7 p.m.
