SPASH shuts out Marshfield boys hockey

MARSHFIELD – Tyler McHugh and Austin Haas each scored twice to lead the Stevens Point Area Senior High boys hockey team to a convincing 9-0 win over Marshfield on Tuesday night at the Marshfield Youth Ice and Recreation Arena.

The Tigers remain winless in the Wisconsin Valley Conference with the loss, falling to 5-13-1 overall and 0-7 in the Valley. SPASH stays in the hunt for the conference title, improving to 14-3-1 overall and 6-1 in the WVC, one-half game behind first-place Wausau West.

Mason Czaikowski added a goal and three assists and Grant Czaikowski, Anthony Smyth, Jacob Dufresne and Matt Dufresne also scored the SPASH.

Brad Krueger had 21 saves and Austin Pickhard had five in goal for Marshfield.

Marshfield’s next game is Thursday at Marathon Park in Wausau against Wausau West.
