Columbus Catholic girls basketball drops home game to Loyal

MARSHFIELD – Loyal held Marshfield Columbus Catholic to three baskets in the first half and went on to a 38-29 win over the Dons in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Tuesday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Loyal led 14-8 after a sluggish first half and held on from there to grab the road win and improve to 10-3 overall and 7-3 in the Cloverbelt East. Columbus drops to 6-7 and 4-6 in the conference.

Elizabeth Manlick scored 11 of her game-high 18 points in the fourth quarter for Columbus. The rest of the Dons combined for just five field goals and 11 total points.

Jordyn Pieper had 10 points and Missy Benz scored nine for the Greyhounds.

Columbus Catholic hosts winless Granton on Friday.
