UW-Marshfield/Wood County basketball teams blow out UW-Richland

MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County basketball teams each won by double digits, sweeping UW-Richland on Wednesday at the Marauder Gym.

The Marauders women won their 11th straight game, pounding Richland 64-31.

Kaitlynn Mefferd scored 16 points, Corrine Meacham had 15, and Addi Vold scored 12 points and had eight assists for UW-Marshfield (15-2).

Jesse Bejcek had 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Tyler Empey scored 13 points for the Marshfield men in a 63-48 victory. The Marauders improve to 14-4.

The Marshfield women host UW-Waukesha at 1 p.m. Saturday. Marshfield is 12-1 and Waukesha 11-2 in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference.

The men’s team is off until next Wednesday when it is at UW-Baraboo.
