MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys swim team wrapped up its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet season with an impressive 95-74 win over Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday at the Marshfield High School Fieldhouse.
The Tigers kicked off the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay. The team of Denver Anderson, Zach Korth, Evan Schneider and Matt Brown won by just 0.11 seconds in a time of 1:55.59.
Anderson won the 50 freestyle (24.97) and 100 backstroke (1:05.63), Schneider took first in the 100 freestyle (56.34) and the team of Schneider, Jack Gellerman, Brown and Anderson won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:48.24 for the other Marshfield wins.
“These swims were great, but it really takes the 3rd, 4th and 5th place finishes to win the meet,” Marshfield coach Faye Egger said.
The Tigers are off until Feb. 2 when they swim at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
